10 Things to Look Out for on Your Spiritual Journey
There is no script or how-to list when it comes to the spiritual journey. Each person’s experience is different. And to some extent, the experience takes place without any conscious effort.
Today I’d like to share with you 10 Things that were central to my spiritual journey. They continue to influence me, as I’m guided daily, and as you read the list, some of the experiences may resonate with you too.
- The importance of listening to yourself. Listen to your intuition. That feeling that you have in your gut, your hunches, your feelings. It’s your chakras speaking to you. Don’t ignore it. It’s there for a purpose.
- To go with these feelings regardless of whether or not they make sense at the time.
It was Martin Luther King who said, you don’t need to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.
Look at me, for example, when I decided to speak openly about my sleep paralysis experiences, which I must admit was a dark period of my life, who would have thought that today I’d be making a living from it, that I’d be doing a PhD. — on my way to becoming a doctor specializing in sleep paralysis and spiritual phenomenon. I’m creating a legacy and a wave within society that can’t be ignored from an initial feeling that I couldn’t shake.
- Be prepared for change. You will begin to see people and events around you differently. You will observe and notice as you stand back and see things that you didn’t see before.
- You’ll begin to feel confident within yourself. A sureness will be within you, that will glow and people will start to wonder what’s happening with you. You will become your best friend. As you learn about yourself, you’ll start to understand yourself, your feelings, your motivations, what excites you, and what ticks you off. You’ll become more aware of all of these.
- You’ll realize that what anyone else has to say about any particular thing doesn’t really matter. What matters is that you’re true to yourself, you’re true to your inner being and what drives you.
- You’ll thirst for more teaching, knowledge, and understanding about the spiritual path and the journey that you’re on.
- You’ll notice synchronicities. You’ll understand that nothing random ever happens. You’ll begin to see that there’s a bigger plan in all things. And you’ll understand that all of these things connect.
- You’ll have an appreciation for all life forms, whether it’s a blade of grass, a tree, an animal, or human life, you will begin to appreciate and understand that we are all made by the Ultimate Univeral Creator.
- You will appreciate the wider cosmos and that we are all part of something much bigger. You will know that there is more going on than just this physical life.
The final and 10th thing is that your circle of friends and associates will begin to change, not due to any particular reason, but because some people will phase out of your life. Your circle will become filled with people who are like-minded. Whether they are online or offline your immediate circle will change.
Whether you experience some or all of the above, the spiritual path is filled with change and wonderment. Both are welcome. And to be honest, you really don’t have a choice. You simply go with the flow and hold on as the ride takes off.
As we journey together.
Sheila
